Vehicle/Specialty Suppression Systems

Vehicle suppression systems are designed to detect and extinguish fires quickly and efficiently. They are easy to install and maintain and are good insurance against a total loss of expensive machinery. Some of the ignition sources that can cause fires include:

  • A short occurs in one of the vehicle’s electrical cables, setting the cable insulation on fire
  • A wiring harness near the battery shorts against the vehicle’s chassis, melts and ignites
  • Abrasion against a high pressure hydraulic line causes leaking atomized hydraulic fluid onto a hot manifold
  • Cardboard, paper and other combustible solids gather behind the hot exhaust manifold in the engine compartment of a trash truck
  • Coal dust ignites from a metal spark
  • Natural gas or hydrogen, highly flammable invisible fire hazards, ignite from an accidentally discarded cigarette

Vehicle Protection

Dry Chemical Fire Suppression Systems are specially designed for the unique demands of the industrial, construction and mining industries. They are also useful for large, specialty vehicles. These systems use either Class ABC or Class BC dry chemical to suppress fire. Pound for pound, dry chemical suppresses more fire than any other agent, providing both rapid suppression and protection against fire re-ignition.

Common Applications:

  • Trash haulers
  • Dozers
  • Forestry
  • Agriculture
  • Drills
  • Compactors
  • Excavators
  • Haul trucks
  • Graders
  • Cranes
  • Underground mining
  • Loaders
  • Slag pot carriers

Please consider the following benefits of vehicle fire suppression systems:

  • Automatic detection and actuation – 24 hour protection
  • Linear or spot heat detection
  • Manual release capability
  • Control panel with status indicators and alarm
  • Supervised detection and release circuits
  • Shutdown capabilities
  • Self-contained battery
  • FM approved
  • Dry chemical and wet chemical agents available

Machine Protection

Clean Agents are particularly useful in protecting high value assets such as machinery, computers and electronic equipment. With a clean agent system, there is little to no downtime because there is no water or residue to clean up after a discharge. This ensures your business can continue operations as soon as possible.

Common Applications:

  • CNC
  • PIC
  • “In Cabinet” and “Local Application”
